Suspect description: Black Female, light skin complexion, approximately 17-18 years of age, 5”02 tall, 120lbs, wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.
Suspect Vehicle: Four-door sedan, light colored, possibly a Honda Civic. Unknown driver.
On 04-27-12 approximately 12:17 PM, officers of the San Leandro Police Department were dispatched to Chapel Ave at Inverness St., regarding a street robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived on scene they located the 81 year old female victim lying on the ground in obvious pain. The victim and witnesses stated that the above listed suspect approached the victim from behind and pushed her to ground. The suspect then took the victims purse, got into the suspect vehicle and fled the area. Officers checked the area for the suspects but met with negative results. The victim was transported to an area hospital, possibly for a broken left hip.
Lt. Tudor said “This was a vicious and cowardly act of violence. The San Leandro Police Department is asking for the communities help to solve this crime. If anybody in the Chapel and Inverness area has video surveillance or any suspect information, please contact the San Leandro Police Department.”
