Warning: Computer Virus Via Spoofed FedEx email.

This alert comes to us from a deputy at the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. He wrote:

"Today I received an e mail from Customerservice@Fedex.com advising me that an order I placed was too big to merit a free delivery and I would have to pick it up."

"There was an attachment which required downloading to view. It was supposed to be the invoice that I was required to print and take to the local Fedex office to pick up the package. After downloading, my pc advised that it could not open it and I was directed to the necessary program that I needed to download."

"I stopped and thought and could not remember placing an order with anyone. I called Fedex and told them of the message and I was advised that this is a scam/virus that is going around. The program that you need to view the attachment gives you the virus."

" If this message is getting to you too late and you have already downloaded the virus, you can call 1 800 GO FEDEX for help."
