Sergeants Fulbright and McDonnell receive Medals of Valor for their acts of bravery

Two Medals of Valor were presented on Thursday, April 26, to Sergeants who risked their lives to pull three victims from a burning vehicle on Sept. 10. Sergeants Donald Fulbright and Brett McDonnell were both recognized by Acting Police Chief Will Johnson for their heroic actions on that tragic morning near Green Oaks Boulevard and Arkansas Lane. The car crashed into an electrical control box and pole, and was engulfed in flames when Sgts. Fulbright and McDonnell pulled the trapped victims from their vehicle. The passengers later died as a result of their injuries. The APD Medal of Valor is the department’s highest decoration for bravery.
