Advisory

Man and woman discovered deceased in home after 911 call. Being investigated as possible murder-suicide.

The Arlington Police Department is investigating the deaths today of a man and woman in an apparent murder-suicide. Arlington 911 received a call at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, from a man who said that he had shot his wife and indicated that he was planning to commit suicide. When officers arrived at the home in the 2200 block of Woodland Oaks Drive, there was no answer at the door and the man would not respond to phone calls. Out of concern that someone could be injured inside the house, officers entered the home and discovered a man and woman deceased inside.

The names of the man and woman will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once official identification has been made and next of kin have been notified. Police investigators will use information from the couple’s family, witness accounts and evidence gathered in the home to determine what led to their deaths.

This is the fifth homicide in Arlington this year.
