This year, approximately 270-law enforcement agencies from around the world competed in the 28th annual Baker to Vegas-Challenge Cup Relay race. Of the teams competing, Century station completed the 120 mile course in just over 15 hours and 18 minutes. In doing so, the Century station running team placed 1st in the “Station 250” category and 19th overall. The long hours of painstaking training paid off in the end for the running team as they took the stage at the awards ceremony to receive their “Station 250” championship plaque. After attending the awards ceremony, Captain Joseph Gooden said “I am very proud of each and every member of the team. One of the proudest moments of my career was when the team asked me to stand on the stage with them as they received their 1st place plaque.” The Championship plaque will soon be added to the station’s Baker to Vegas wall.
