Global Youth Service Day is this Saturday!

Tomorrow, April 21, is Global Youth Service Day. As a result, expect to see teams of young adults, children and big kids in the community doing their part to make Arlington cleaner, prettier and better. The Emerging Young leaders will plant flowers in the community garden at Veda Knox Elementary School. The Juan Seguin High School Latin club and Student Council will sponsor “Walk It Out,” a 5K fun run/walk at Veteran’s Park to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and March of Dimes. The daylong activities will also include a City Celebration at the Levitt Pavilion Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Global Youth Service Day is an appropriate way to end National Volunteer Recognition Week, for volunteers of all ages. If you get an opportunity today or tomorrow, please take the time to thank a volunteer for giving their time and dedication to making Arlington better.
