Deputy sustains minor injuries in car crash after intoxicated driver, 27yo Zachary Glisson, turns in front of him.

A sheriff’s deputy sustained a minor injury and his unit was damaged early Sunday when he was struck by an allegedly drunk driver while on patrol.
According to an Arkansas State Police report, the deputy, Clayton Green, was eastbound on Airport Road shortly before 4 a.m. in his unit when a westbound 2006 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Zachary W. Glisson, 27, of Hot Springs, attempted to make a left turn onto Adcock Road.
Green said he was unable to stop and Glisson’s pickup collided with the front passenger side of the deputy’s unit and then flipped, coming to rest on the driver’s side of the pickup near the EZ Mart. The pickup and the deputy’s unit, a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, each sustained an estimated $8,000 in damages.
Both Green and Glisson claimed they had a green light, but Glisson admitted he wasn’t certain if he had the green protected arrow at the time of the accident.
LifeNet responded and both men initially declined medical treatment, but Green later went to St. Joseph’s for treatment of a minor injury to his left forearm apparently caused by the airbag deploying.
Glisson appeared to be impaired and a breathalyzer test showed his blood/alcohol content was 0.08 percent, so he was charged with driving with intoxicated and failure to yield.
