SUSPECT: Hershel Dorsey / Ledell Moss

DETAILS:

On 4-16-12 at 10:00 pm, the San Leandro Police Department received a 911 call from an employee at Camping World, 420 San Leandro Blvd, reporting that 2 subjects were on the grounds breaking into motor homes. San Leandro Police Officers responded and surrounded the business. One of the suspects was seen jumping a fence, and was quickly apprehended by officers without incident. An Alameda County Sheriff’s Office K9 responded to the scene to assist in searching the lot for additional suspects.

After several warnings were given to come out, there was no response from any suspects. Consequently, the police K9 was deployed and was able to locate a suspect hiding inside the lot at Camping World. The suspect still refused to surrender, and the K9 bit the suspect in the foot, resulting in minor injury.

Arrested were Ledell Moss (47 years old from Oakland) and Hershel Dorsey (48 years old from Oakland). Dorsey was the first suspect apprehended when he tried to flee over a fence, and Moss was the suspect who was located by the police K9. Moss was booked into the Santa Rita jail for burglary, possession of burglary tools, and drug paraphernalia. Dorsey was booked in for burglary.
