SD Crime Stoppers Doubles Reward for Double-Murder Suspect
Reward Increased in Search for Ruben Cepeda
Wanted for the Murder of his Pregnant Girlfriend

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Escondido Police Department are asking for assistance from the public to locate Ruben Anthony Cepeda who is wanted for murder.
On Saturday, April 7, 2012, at about 7:30 PM, officers from the Escondido Police Department responded to a call of a woman who had been shot while in her apartment at 725 N. Fig St. This is an apartment within the Estancia Apartment complex.
When officers arrived, they found a pregnant 18-year-old female inside her apartment that had been shot in the torso. She was taken to a local area hospital where, at about 8:45 PM, both she and her unborn child died from their injuries.
Detectives have identified Ruben Anthony Cepeda as a suspect in this crime.
Cepeda should be considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a 21-year-old Hispanic male. He is 5’8” and about 150 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. Two photos of Cepeda are on the second page of this release.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. An additional $1,000 has been donated to this reward fund.
