HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – April 13, 2012 – Three members of the Hollister Police Department have been recognized for their efforts to reduce the incidence of driving under the influence in 2011.
The officers received plaques and pins at a regional awards luncheon hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) that honored officers in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties. The luncheon was held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Monterey Hyatt in Monterey.
The following Hollister Police Officers were acknowledged for their efforts:
• Officer Chris Wells - 31 DUI Arrests
• Officer Bo Leland - 22 DUI Arrests
• Sergeant Don Magnuson
Sergeant Don Magnuson was recognized for locating and turning over several DUI arrests to officers.
A grant from the Office of Traffic Safety underwrote the majority of the expenses for increased DUI enforcement. Sergeant Eric Olson administers the Hollister Police Departments Office of Traffic Safety Grants.
