BPD Traffic Enforcement initiative

A slew of traffic complaints, plus the onset of warm weather beckoning pedestrians and bicyclists to the roadways, has prompted the Boxborough Police Department to announce a traffic enforcement initiative.

Officers will be out in full force cracking down on moving violations. The focus will be on secondary streets and the school zone.
Distracted driving, rolling through stop signs, no seatbelts, ignoring pedestrians–those and many more traffic violations will be given extra attention during the traffic enforcement initiative, Chief Ryder said.

"The Boxborough Police Department reminds citizens that safety on our roadways and around our school is everyone's responsibility," the release said. "While the police are committed to improving safety by increasing compliance with traffic laws through education and enforcement, we rely on the cooperation of the public to be aware of and to follow all traffic laws, whether as a pedestrian, bicyclist or motorist."

Boxborough Chief of Police Warren Ryder added, "If our entire community works together to promote safe driving, we can ensure that Boxborough remains a safe place to live and work."
