Boxborough Police arrest woman on identity fraud and Immigration and Customs detainer warrant.

POLICE ARREST WOMAN ON ID FRAUD, FUGITIVE WARRANT

BOXBOROUGH, MA –Boxborough Police Detectives conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of a Clinton woman on numerous charges.

Elizangela SANTOS, 34, of 17 White St. #3 in Clinton, believed to be in the United States illegally, had been working at a business in Boxborough under an assumed identity. In conjunction with the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) it was learned that SANTOS was allegedly using numerous aliases, and had reportedly assumed the identity of another person. ICE issued a detainer warrant so they could assume custody of SANTOS if apprehended. Detainers are critical for ICE to be able to identify and ultimately remove criminal aliens who are currently in federal, state or local custody.

Detectives BOWOLICK and LAVINE located SANTOS on April 9th and found falsified identification documents, including a social security card and Massachusetts driver’s license in her possession.

SANTOS was arrested and brought to the Boxborough Police station, where she was held overnight. SANTOS was charged with possessing a false driver’s license, identity fraud, unlicensed operation of a vehicle, being a fugitive from justice and giving a false name to a police officer.

SANTOS was arraigned on the charges at Ayer District Court on April 10th and transferred into ICE custody.
