The Washington Police Department activity log for the last two weeks released. They will posted on the website shortly.

03/26/12
1222- Chief Marshall checked a residential alarm at a Lake Ashuelot Estates (LAE) property. All was secure.

1523- An antique sawmill blade was reported to have been stolen from a Halfmoon Pond Rd. property sometime over the fall or winter.

1609- A property owner requested an extra patrol at a foreclosed property on Valley Rd.

1650 A loose dog was restrained at a Washington Dr. residence. Chief Marshall located Bruin’s owner and had him picked up.

03/27/2012
1220- Chief Marshall received a report from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of a possible child pornography matter. Chief Marshall determined the child involved was not a Washington resident and referred it to the State Police.

1233- Chief Marshall assisted Fish & Game by euthanizing a brain worm infested moose on Madison Dr.

03/28/2012
1211- A local resident requested the police store some old prescriptions until they could be destroyed.

03/30/2012
1200- A request was submitted for extra patrols at the Smith Pond Boat ramp due to increased activity on the evening.

1500- The Town Bookkeeper turned over a bad check for investigation.

2245- An alarm was reported from the Highland Lake area. It was located coming from the Valley Rd. area, but Chief Marshall and a property owner could not locate the source.

03/31/2012
1737- A ceramic angel was reported stolen from a driveway on Faxon Hill Rd.

04/01/2012
1057- A suspicious person was reported by an E. Washington homeowner. Investigated by Chief Marshall and the local Conservation Officer.

1536- A Millen Pond Rd. homeowner was warned about outside burning during the red flag ban.

1544- Chief Marshall observed the flagpole at Camp Morgan Beach knocked over. Reported to the Parks & Rec. Commission.

1855- An out of state person was looking for contact information for a former co-worker living in Washington. Chief Marshall delivered a message to the local resident to call.

04/02/2012
0746- An unattended campfire was discovered on Kingsbury Hill Rd. Chief Marshall requested the Fire Department.

1537- A Smith Pond Rd. resident requested extra patrols on Kingsbury Hill Rd. due to the increased night time activity and unattended campfires.

1543- Chief Marshall checked a residential alarm on Millen Pond Rd. All was secure.

1551- The Assessors located open doors at a Valley Rd. property. Checked by Chief Marshall.

04/04/2012
0810- A panic alarm was investigated on Halfmoon Pond Rd. The empty building apparently panicked on its own.

04/05/2012
1404- A motorist report an raccoon acting oddly on So. Main St. Chief Marshall checked the area and did not find any raccoons, odd or normal.

04/06/2012
0819- Ofc. Corrigan cleared a log off So. Main St.

1113- While doing a house check on Long Pond Rd. Ofc. Corrigan located an open garage door.

1206- Ofc. Corrigan checked an open door on Walnut Cir. All was in order.

1311- A possible attempted burglary was reported on Chestnut Rd. It may have occurred sometime over the winter.

1436- A Sweeney Rd. homeowner requested assistance with harassment at his home. Ofc. Corrigan assisted.

04/07/2012
0158- Chief Marshall charged Tyler Larose, age 18 of Henniker with Unlawful Possession of Alcohol. He was release with a summons to appear in the Newport Court.

0222- Chief Marshall observed an illegal campfire on Lempster Mtn. Rd. A warning was issued to the resident.

0842- Ofc. Moser investigated a theft of services from the Washington General Store.

1626- A LAE resident reported an open door at an unoccupied residence. Ofc. Corrigan found no problem.

2053- Ofc. Corrigan arrested John Sernotti, age 18, of Washington for possession of a controlled drug on Kingsbury Hill Rd. He was released on Personal Recognizance bail to appear in the Newport Court.

During the period the police officers stopped 330 vehicles and issued 2 summons. 2 pistol licenses were processed and 38 house checks were received or conducted.
