Easter Day Water Rescue Incident Summary (04/08/2012, 5:09 pm)

The Alameda Fire Department responded to the report of a kite surfer in distress, 300 yards off shore of Crown Beach - 1700 block of Shore Line Drive. Arriving crews set up water rescue swimmers and launched a rescue boat. The rescue boat crew made contact with the kite surfer, who was in distress and tangled in his kite cables. The rescue boat safely brought the surfer and his kite to the beach. He was not injured.

Alameda Police, East Bay Regional Parks Police and the US Coast Guard also responded.
