HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – April 5, 2012 – On March 31, 2012, about 2:00 AM, police were dispatched to the Hazel Hawkins Hospital emergency room for a patient being treated for multiple stab wounds. A 24-year-old male reported he had been stabbed outside of Johnny’s Bar.
The victim told police he had been in a verbal altercation, earlier in the evening, with a man at the Whiskey Creek Saloon, 201 5th Street. The victim decided to leave and walk to Johnny’s Bar, 526 San Benito Street. At around 1:00 am, the victim decided to leave Johnny's Bar and walked into the 300 block of Wentz Alley. He was confronted by the same male from the earlier argument at Whiskey Creek. The victim and suspect fought in the alley. When the fight was over, the victim began to walk away. According to the victim, the suspect then attacked him from behind, slashing the victim on the back of his head and back with an unknown type of edged weapon. The suspect fled on foot.
The victim was able to summon a ride from a friend to the hospital. The victim claimed not to know his attacker. No witnesses have been located or identified. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a shaved head and light mustache.
