On today’s date at approximately 7:45 a.m., Bradenton Police Officers responded to a complaint of a nine year old female child who was walking in the 2200 block of 21st Ave. West to her bus stop when she was approached by a black male who was driving an older box styled body, 4 door vehicle (No Further Vehicle Description Provided), who asked the child “Hey do you need a ride?” The child replied “no,” and ran to her bus stop. The subject fled the area without any further contact with the child. The subject was described as a B/M, 35 – 55 years of age, medium hair, with a goatee.

Captain Warren Merriman requested parents to please remind their children of the dangers of unknown persons approaching them while going to or from school, and for their children to notify a school official or law enforcement officer immediately if such an incident occurred to him/her.
