A barricaded suspect wanted in the shooting and wounding of his mother in Altadena is ongoing. Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening. He is believed to be armed with a long rifle and several other weapons. He remains contained in the house at the 3200 block of N. Lincoln Ave, Altadena.
Shortly after the incident began at 2:45pm, LASD deputies evacuated nearby homes for the safety of the neighbors.
The best next step we want in an armed barricaded situation is for the suspect to slowly step outside with empty hands high in the air and to surrender.
The LASD Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is making every effort to convince the suspect to surrender, assisted by patrol deputies and the LASD Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
