Crime Report for March 1st, 2012 thru March 15th, 2012.
03/02/2012- 100 Block of Emerald Cir- Breaking and Entering- The park management of Northfield Estates reports an unknown subject(s) entered and damaged one of the unoccupied manufactured homes. The case is currently under investigation by the responding officer.
03/05/2012- 600 Block of Turquoise Dr- Larceny from Auto- The victim reports that an unknown subject entered his unlocked vehicle and removed his GPS unit and loose change. There are currently no suspects. The case is being investigated by the responding officer.
03/09/2012- 8000 Block of Main St- Damaged Property- The business reported that an unknown subject cut the barbed wire fence that secures the business property. Nothing else was damaged and nothing had been removed from the business yard. The case is being investigated by the responding officer.
03/10/2012- 100 Block of Delaware St- Damaged Property- Officers responded to the address on a report that someone had broken out the window in the front door. Officers spoke with the victim but no suspect information was obtained. The case is being investigated by
the responding officer.
03/12/2012- 7000 Block of Coyle-Identity Theft- The victim reports that his income taxes were returned because someone had used his social security number on another tax return. The case was turned over to the Internal Revenue Service.
03/12/2012- 9000 Block of Harbor Cove- Identity Theft- The victim reports that his income taxes were returned because someone had used his social security number on another tax return. The case was turned over to the Internal Revenue Service.
03/14/2012- 8000 Block of Sunflower Dr- Telephone Harassment- The victim reports receiving a harassing call from a telemarketer once she decided not to renew a subscription. The victim report getting several calls and finally told the subject in no uncertain terms to “Stop Calling”. The victim reports getting another call from an unknown number and the person said that they would harm the caller the next time they spoke to a telemarketer that way. The case is under investigation by the responding officer.
03/15/2012-9000 Block of Main St- Larceny- The owner of a Business on Main St. reports a larceny that occurred over the winter months. The business reports several auger dock posts were stolen from outside the business. There are currently no suspects and the case is being investigated by the responding officer.
It is tax return season and the Northfield Police have taking several complaints of citizen’s social security numbers being used on someone else’s tax returns. If this should happen to you immediately notify the Internal Revenue Service and follow their instructions on what to do next.
