RAPE/SEX ABUSE ARRESTS

Two individuals from Etowah County have been arrested and charged with sexual abuse related offenses.
“Tracy Melvin Wilemon, 41, and Robert Wilson Hall, 38, both of Altoona, were booked into the Detention Center on March 26th. Wilemon is charged with one count of first degree sexual abuse and one count of first degree hindering prosecution, both are felonies,” states Investigator Tracey Bishop. “Hall is charged with one count of first degree rape and one count of first degree sexual abuse, both are felonies.”
Bishop says these charges stem from two different incidents. The first incident occurred approximately three months ago and the second incident two months ago.
Wilemon allegedly sexually abused the 14 year-old female at a residence on 11th Avenue, Altoona. Hall then allegedly raped the same victim at a later time at the same residence.
A concerned citizen initially reported the incidents to Altoona Police Department, who then contacted the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
Wilemon and Hall are currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond each.
The victim was interviewed at the James M. Barrie Center for Children.
Wilemon and Hall were apprehended on Monday by deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
