The Washington Police Department is releasing information about activity we have repsonded to.

03/09/2012
0830- Information taken about a possible missing dog being found at the Goshen- Lempster School. Owner notified.

1007- Police received a report from the DCYF hotline of a complaint of a sexual assault on a child by a parent. Joint investigation underway.

1411- Chief Marshall responded to a report of a neglected dog in a yard on Valley Rd. There was no neglected dog, but the plywood silhouette of a wolf appeared to have not been varnished for a long period of time.

03/10/12
0833- An abandoned 911 call from a residence on Winding Way was checked. Resident home, unsure what caused the call.

0941- James Adams, age 23 of Washington, reported his 2008 Hyundai Accent had slid on ice on Valley Rd. earlier in the morning and struck a stone wall. Minor damage, no injury.

1404- Lake Ashuelot Estates (LAE) Neighborhood Watch reported tracks leading to a rarely occupied house on Lincoln Dr. Chief Marshall found the owner had been in for repairs.

1646- Responded with Washington Fire for a propane smell in a building on Adams Dr.

1957- Chief Marshall served a subpoena to a Washington resident for the Hillsboro Police.

03/11/2012
1122- Ofc. Puchtler instructed the weekly DARE class.

1500- A garage door was reported to be damaged on Halfmoon Pond Rd. The owner was contacted and advised the door had fallen off the track and she was awaiting the repairman.

1630- A bag of trash was found in the intersection of No Main St. and Lempster Mountain Rd. The General Store donated a trash bag and Chief Marshall cleaned it up and hauled it to the transfer station.

0814- A Smith Pond Rd. resident reported her garage door had opened on its own last night near midnight. She said that this is the fourth time in a year that this has happened. That it only happens at night.

03/17/2012
1135- A North Main St. residence reported his garage entered and a generator taken. Investigation underway.

03/18/2012
1045- Requested by DPW to check Marlow Rd. for mud conditions. Ofc. Corrigan reported there was mud.

1304- Police received a 4th party report of a suspicious person at an unknown residence, somewhere on North Main St., sometime in the past. Ofc. Corrigan investigated and did not find anyone suspicious or anything out of ordinary on No. Main St.

1407- Ofc. Corrigan spoke with a dog owner on Halfmoon Pond Rd. about an unrestrained dog.

1525- A So. Main St. resident reported a harassing phone call to Ofc. Corrigan.

03/20/2012
1206- Chief Marshall got to take Devin Murphy, Abigail Macdonald & Mackenzie Guay, the Students of the Month to lunch, sponsored by June Manning.

1519- A Halfmoon Pond Rd. resident had a discussion with Chief Marshall about ongoing harassment from a family in town.

1757- Chief Marshall gave a talk to members of Deering Rescue on what to do if a police officer is a patient.

03/21/2012
1334- Rescue was assisted by Ofc. Puchtler at a report of a choking person on Sweeney Rd.

1401- Ofc. Puchtler and Chief Marshall participated in the Washington Elementary DARE graduation program.

1819- Chief Marshall tried to assist a Madison Dr. resident who was locked out of his house. The fire department was requested with the proper tools.

1942- An E. Washington Rd. resident called with concerns about a vehicle parked in front of her house. Chief Marshall investigated and found a local young lady using a cell phone hot spot.

03/23/2012
1248- Chief Marshall and DPW Foreman Gaskell recovered the carcass of a deceased dog from the water near the Washington Lake Association beach.

1946- A Smith Pond resident called with a report of possibly illegal fishing in Smith Pond. Ofc. Corrigan investigated and found they were catching horn pout which has no closed season.

03/24/2012
0800- Rescue was provided a lift assist by Ofc. Moser at a medical call on Bradford Springs Rd.

1847- Chief Marshall spoke to a Long Pond Rd. property owner about burning without a permit and in violation of the burning ban.

03/25/2012
1057- A suspicious appearing condition was reported at a Halfmoon Pond Rd. house. Ofc. Corrigan investigated and spoke with caretaker who advised it was apparently wind related.

03/09-25/12 The Washington Police Department issued 47 motor vehicle warnings and 8 citations. The Washington Police Department received/performed 15 vacant home checks. 8 License to Carry Concealed Firearms were issued.
