Motorist near Pinehurst Elementary School should be aware of drivers not observing children in the crosswalks and speeding.POLICE IN AREA

Pinehurst Police Department is alerting residents to a dangerous TRAFFIC problem.
On the afternoon of March 22,2012 two children were nearly struck by a speeding car on Dundee Road. The driver failed to yield the right of way to the children that were using the cross-walk and nearly struck them which would have probably caused serious injury or even DEATH!! The Police Department sent out a notice at the first of March warning drivers that enforcement would be stepped up and most of you responded favorably, however some of you didn't heed the warning. The Pinehurst Police Department will be out in force starting tomorrow morning (03/23/2012) there will be no warnings issued. If you are caught speeding, failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians or any motor vehicle moving violation you WILL BE TICKETED.


You as a responsible driver should slow down and be mindful that most of Dundee Road is a school zone and the speed limit is 25 miles per hour. The speed limit for non school hours is also 25 miles per hour. Please use caution,observe the posted speed limit and watch out for our children.
