Hollister Police Investigate Attempted Shooting

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – March 12, 2012 – On March 11, 2012 at about 5:00 a.m. a Hollister Police Officer responded to the area of Miller Rd at San Juan Road after she heard two to three gunshots in the area. Officers quickly found a male victim of an attempted robbery on Miller Rd who had just called 911.

The victim reported a Hispanic male approached him as he walked northbound on Miller Rd from the Quickstop at San Juan Rd. The suspect reached for a handgun in his waist band and told the victim in Spanish “give me your money”. The victim began struggling with the suspect and was able to knock the gun from the suspect’s hand. The victim ran southbound towards the Quickstop Store. The victim said the suspect picked up the gun and fired two to three shots in his direction. The victim was uninjured in this incident.

The suspect was described as Hispanic with a light complexion, slender build, shaved head, approximately 5-10, wearing a black hat, black shirt, and black pants. The suspect appeared to be in his mid-twenties.

Two vehicles in the area were found with gunshot damage.
