The Saddle Brook Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident of an apparent attempted burglary and aggravated assault that occurred on Ardmore Court in Saddle Brook on the Fair Lawn border. At 1pm on Thursday, March 08, 2012 police were notified by a female victim that stated while she was waiting in her parked car for a friend at a house on Ardmore Court, she observed an older model square style white minivan pull up and park on the roadway. Two (2) black males exited the van carrying toolboxes and entered a side yard property of a residence on Ardmore Court. The victim exited her car and advised the males that the friend she was waiting for was not home and asked what they were doing. The males stated they were there to fix an appliance in the home. The males told the victim to go back to her car, which she did. When she returned to her car and while attempting to make a telephone call on her cell phone, one of the males approached the victim’s car, tapped on the window and waved his finger motioning her to stop. He then showed her a switchblade knife and told her to put the phone down and not to call anyone. After the males left the area, the police were notified at 1:40pm. The suspect males are described as follows:
Suspect # 1: 6’00 tall dark black male, in his thirties, wearing a knit cap, plaid shirt and blue jeans.
Suspect # 2: 5’9” tall dark black male, in his twenties, wearing a baseball cap with insignia type symbol.
