HOLLISTER POLICE ARREST BURGLARY SUSPECT
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – March 8, 2012– On March 8, 2012 at about 1:00 a.m., Hollister Police officers arrested David Sanchez (25 yrs) from Hollister, for burglary and resisting arrest.
At about 12:50 am, Sanchez entered the AM-PM convenience store located at 301 Gateway Dr. Sanchez walked into the stores restroom. About a minute after Sanchez’s arrival, Hollister Police Officer Luis Toribio also arrived at the AM-PM store and walked inside. It should be noted, Officer Toribio was on-duty, wearing his uniform and driving a fully marked police car.
At 12:54 am, Sanchez exited the bathroom and walked over to the stores beer cooler. Sanchez took a case of beer from the cooler and then ran from the store without paying for the beer, yelling “later” to the Clerk as he exited. Officer Toribio was in the store at this time and witnessed the entire incident. Officer Toribio chased Sanchez on foot, westbound from the store. Officer Toribio arrested Sanchez after a brief struggle west of the store on Gateway Dr.
Sanchez was booked into the county jail on charges of burglary, resisting arrest, and a local arrest warrant.
