Rutherford County Communication Center Dispatcher Amanda Stevens was nominated and received Region C Award for her outstanding ability to calm an enraged person down so he would not do harm to himself or officers. Dispatcher Stevens was on the phone with the subject off and on for approximately one hour. Lt. Tammy Aldridge presented Dispatcher Amanda Stevens with the Region C Award.
The monthly Region C award ceremony was held on 2-28-2012 at Rollins Restaurant in Forest City.
Region C is comprised of law enforcement agencies from Rutherford, Polk, McDowell and Cleveland Counties. Region-C recognizes officers who go above and beyond the call of duty.
