Reminder if you rec a call saying you won the lottery or someone wants you to send money. Don't do it! there are multiple scams currently
Please make sure everyone is aware that there are multiple scams going on now where foreign speaking individuals will call and advise you that you have won the lottery or you need to send them money. Don't do this, these calls are scams! No legitimate company will require you to send them money in order to claim a cash prize, nor will they ask you for personal identification questions such as your maiden name, social security number or bank account number. Be extremely cautious if anyone requests you to wire them money. It is nearly impossible to track Moneygram payments, especially when it is sent outside of the country. These individuals target a variety of people but elderly people are especially susceptible and run the risk of losing large amounts of money. If you have someone who may fit into this category please take the time to speak with them and make them aware of the situation. If anyone questions the legitimacy of a phone call or letter they have received; contact your local police department and ask them if the call sounds or letter is legitimate.
