Armed carjacking in the 19200 block of Edgefield

Police are investigating and armed carjacking that occurred on 2/19/12 at approximately 7:50 P.M. in the 19200 block of Edgefield. An off-duty female bus driver had just exited her maroon 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer (Michigan personalized plate MS SS), when she was approached by a suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect, described as an African American male, 20-25 years of age, 5”5” 160lbs, dark complexion, clean shaven, wearing a black skull cap and dark clothing, thought the victim was a police officer and ordered her to produce her firearm at gunpoint. The victim informed the suspect she was only a bus driver. The suspect took property from the victim and forced her to lie face down in the grass before taking her vehicle. The victim was not injured. The investigation is on-going.
