FORGERY ARREST

A Tidmore Bend man has been arrested and charged with several forgery related offenses.
“20 year old Benny Dean Hester, III, was booked into the Detention Center on Monday, February 13th. He was charged, on Thursday, February 16th, with 17 counts of second degree forgery, two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of second degree receiving stolen property,” states Investigator Fred Lasseter. “All are felonies.”
Hester was also charged with third degree receiving stolen property, which is a misdemeanor.
Lasseter says Hester allegedly stole checks from a family member, signed their name on the checks and wrote them to the East Gadsden and Attalla Wal-Mart, and also to several Gadsden convenient stores.
Hester is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $56,000 bond.
