South Pasadena Police Department Sexual Assault Investigation Update 2/12
The South Pasadena Police Department’s investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in the 600 block of Monterey Rd. during the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 8th, is continuing on several different fronts.
The police department is currently soliciting, processing and following-up on leads generated from the initial preliminary investigation along with those received from the public. Information we have been able to develop during the course of the investigation suggests the suspect may have either resided in or frequented the area of the 600 block of Monterey Rd. The SPPD continues to ask for the public’s assistance in viewing the attached crime bulletin and composite rendering and calling us at 626-403-7270 if you have any information regarding this case. Please keep in mind that the suspect may attempt to alter their appearance, especially if they know they’re being sought, and may not currently appear (e.g. hair length, hair color, etc.) as depicted in the original rendering.
The SPPD is focusing available resources on providing extra patrol in the Monterey Rd. area and will continue to do as long as needed even though we do not have any specific information to suggest the suspect may return.
Lastly, we are awaiting physical evidence collected from the crime scene to be processed and analyzed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab for DNA.
The South Pasadena Police Department will continue to provide updates via our Nixle and Twitter feeds as the investigation evolves and the situation warrants.
