Women attacked in her driving - unknown suspect fled the scene - occurred in the past - NOT in Progress
On February 7, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of Sutton Road, a single mother was attacked in her driveway by an individual wearing a ski mask.
According to the victim, she stated that an unknown male came from around her house while she was unloading her vehicle. She said the unknown male approached her while carrying a red “solo” cup in his left hand and either a gun or a knife in his right hand. The suspect came up to her and threw and unknown liquid in the victim’s eye’s and took off running down her driveway toward Sutton Road. The victim immediately felt a burning sensation in her eyes and called to her daughter to dial 911. Officers from the Northfield Police Department, Green Oak, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s and the Ann Arbor Police responded to the scene along with medical personnel. A K-9 track was performed and was determined that the suspect fled the area.
The suspect is described at a white male, 6’0 180lbs, wearing light colored blue jeans, light green camouflage jacket and had a black ski mask pulled over his face.
The victim sustained permanent eye damage that will require a cornea transplant. Samples of the liquid were sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for analysis to determine its content.
