Chief Frankenstein's Response to Channel 12 Story Regarding Dog Attack

In response to the story shown on WWBT Channel 12 of a dog attack in Prince George County, the Chief of Police, Col. Ed Frankenstein, is reporting that the Animal Control personnel of this county did respond to this incident and acted appropriately by following State Statute which was requiring the dog be quarantined by either the owner, which in this case was the brother of the victim, or relinquish the dog to Animal Control personnel for a period of ten days. Animal Control personnel will again follow-up with the next step to include discussing the process and possible alternatives with the victim. The incident will also be reviewed by the Commonwealth’s Attorney to determine whether there may be a case for prosecution. The Prince George Police Department certainly empathizes with the victim and wishes her a speedy recovery but wants to assure her and the citizens of Prince George that this case has and continues to be looked at thoroughly.
