UPDATE: PATROL CAR BURGLARIES

Investigators in Etowah County are continuing to develop information and track down leads connected to the burglaries of five patrol cars.
“Someone somewhere knows who have committed these crimes and we are asking for the public’s help in apprehending these dangerous criminals,” says Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Reward money is available for information leading to an arrest in this case.
Five patrol vehicles, from different law enforcement agencies, were broken into Sunday night in Etowah County.
Long guns, AR15 shot guns and one bullet proof vest was stolen from the vehicles. Each law enforcement vehicle was locked and had a window broken out during the theft.
The following vehicles were broken into between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.:
*Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Sardis City Police Department in Reece City
*Gadsden Police Department on Noccalula Mountain
*Gadsden Police Department in Hokes Bluff
*Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in Southside
Two additional Etowah County Sheriff’s Office patrol cars have been broken into since December 2011.
