Patrol Car Burglaries

PATROL CAR BURGLARIES
Five patrol vehicles, from different law enforcement agencies, were broken into overnight in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Long guns, AR15 shot guns and one bullet proof vest was stolen from the vehicles. Each law enforcement vehicle was locked and had a window broken out during the theft.
The following vehicles were broken into between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.:
*Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Sardis City Police Department in Reece City
*Gadsden Police Department on Noccalula Mountain
*Gadsden Police Department in Hokes Bluff
*Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in Southside
Two additional Etowah County Sheriff’s Office patrol cars have been broken into since December 2011.
The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) have been contacted and will be involved in the investigation.
