Palmdale Station is advising the community that the Palmdale Transportation Center, located at 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Dr., has reopened as of 8:00PM.
The transportation center was temporarily closed after Palmdale Station received a 911 call from a security guard at the location indicating a patron had notified him of a suspicious device in a bag was near the bus depot. When Palmdale Deputies arrived at the scene they began evacuating the transportation center and coordinating with Metrolink and AVTA officials to divert incoming buses and trains.
The Sheriff's Department Arson Explosives unit responded to the transportation center and rendered the suspicious package safe. The ongoing investigation surrounding this incident will handled by The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Arson Explosives Unit.
At this time the western and northern entrances into the Transportation Center have been reopened and members of the public are being allowed to retrieve their vehicles and continue to their destination.
