INCIDENT TYPE: Motorcycle Crash Western and Hastings

DETAILS: On February 1, 2012 Officers were dispatched to a three vehicle crash at Western and Hastings. Upon their arrival they discovered a 2006 Harley Davidson Road Master driven by Dennis Shelby Mills, WM, 65 had been south bound on Western approaching Hastings. A 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by Mary Louise Hughes, WF, 65 was stopped on Western to turn from south bound to east bound onto Hastings Ave. The Harley was unable to control its speed. The Harley struck the back left of the Pontiac. The Harley continued south, it then collided with a 2000 Ford F-350 driven by Gary Don Doorman, WM, 54. Mills was rushed to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Hughes was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Doorman was uninjured. Mills was not wearing a helmet. This crash is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Division of the Amarillo Police Dept.
