RAPE/CUSTODY INTERFERENCE ARREST
One individual has been arrested and charged with a rape related offense, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Joseph Daniel Law, 22, of Piedmont, has been arrested and charged with one count of second degree rape and one count of interference with custody, both are felonies,” states Investigator Carla Carroll.
Law allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 14 year-old female. The female left her residence, in Ball Play, with the suspect on Saturday.
Law and the female were located Monday evening, by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, at a hotel in Piedmont.
Law is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $15,000 cash bond.
Juvenile interviews related to this case were conducted at the James M. Barrie Center for Children.
