Woods Cross, Utah – Woods Cross Police Department announced today that Woods Cross Officer James Sheldon was selected as the School Resource Officer of the year by the Utah Council For Crime Prevention.
Officer Sheldon has been the SRO at Woods Cross High School since 2008 and has become a valuable asset not only to the school environment, but to the community at large and police department as well. “Officer Sheldon has forged relationships with students, faculty, and administration that have enriched the curriculum at the high school, enabled positive change in the lives of at-risk students, and even solved a few crimes along the way!” said Chief Greg Butler.
Woods Cross Principal Steve Park had this to say, “In my experience as a principal it is quite rare to come across an employee possessing as many quality characteristics as Officer James Sheldon.”
