Deputies were on patrol when they saw Suspect White standing on the sidewalk talking to the driver of a parked vehicle at the location. As the Deputies exited their radio car to contact the driver, Suspect White quickly ran west on Spruce Street.
The Deputies initiated a foot pursuit, and saw the suspect was armed a large black handgun. The deputies pursued the suspect into the backyard of a nearby residence, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.
He was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer, violation 245(D)(2) PC. A 9mm high capacity pistol was recovered at the scene of the shooting. Neither the deputies, nor the suspect were injured during this incident.
