On 1-20-12, at 9:35 PM, the Toot ‘n Totum at 1735 S. Nelson was robbed. The female clerk was near the back of the store when three suspects entered. They were all wearing black ski masks, black shirts or jackets, and gloves. One was described as a white male, about 6 feet tall. The second suspect was described a HM, about 5ft. 8, and heavy set. In the video of the incident, it appears that both of these men were armed with handguns. They had her go to the front of the store and give them the money from the register. The third suspect, described as smaller as and slimmer than the other two, took two 30-packs of beer from the cooler. All three then left the store, running northbound.
At 10:20 PM, officers responded to a robbery at the Toot ‘n Totum at 6802 Wolflin. A male clerk was in the store when three suspects entered. Once again, they were wearing black ski masks. One suspect pointed an unknown type of handgun at him. He directed the victim to the front of the store to get the money from the register. The victim complied. The three ran north from the store.
A review of the video indicates that the suspects may be the same in both incidents. The taller suspect is wearing a jacket that has the letters spelling out “IGGER” and has a design of the cartoon character Tigger on the chest. The other subject was wearing a dark colored shirt or jacket with some type of white designs on the front. The third suspect was described as wearing all black including a black hooded sweatshirt.
No one was injured in these incidents and there have been no arrests. The amount taken was not released.
