RARITAN TOWNSHIP MAN ARRESTED IN CHILD PORN CASE

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced the arrest of one individual resulting from a joint investigation conducted by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Raritan Township Police Department.

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On January 5, 2012, FBI Agents and HCPO Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence of Koran Shillito, age 21 of Emery Avenue in Raritan Township. Mr. Shillito was arrested and charged with one count of Distribution of Child Pornography (2nd degree) and one count of Possession of Child Pornography (4th degree).”

The Honorable Stephen B. Rubin, J.S.C. set bail at $100,000 and Shillito was lodged at the Hunterdon County Jail. If found guilty at trial, the defendant could be exposed to 5-10 years in a state prison for the 2nd degree charge and up to 18 months in state prison on the 4th degree charge.

Kearns added, “The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, is dedicated to investigating crimes committed against children.”
