Friday, December 23, 2011 Hope Mills Police were called to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center (ER).There they met with a 46 YOA white male that was being treated for gunshot wounds. The victim
told police that while he was sitting in his vehicle, parked in front of his home the night before,Thursday, December 22, 2011 at approximately 9pm, three black males approached him, at least
two were armed with guns. The victim said the suspects demanded money and they took a cell phone he had just purchased. Before leaving the suspects shot the victim as he sat in his vehicle.The victim did not remember much until he woke up the next day.

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 the following persons were charged and warrants were served while they were in jail on similar charges taken out by Cumberland County Sheriff Office. Each person was charged with: Assault with Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with the Intent to Kill Robbery with Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy. Dennis Quane Cromartie DOB 03/07/1994 Bond was set at $50,000.00 secured, and Shide Wendell Underwood DOB 12/27/1992 Bond was set at $100,000.00 secured. The police are still investigating this case for the third person.
