Sandy Springs Police Department - Neighborhood Watch Programs

The Sandy Springs Police Department‘s goal in 2012 is to increase the number of Neighborhood Watch Programs in the city. The Neighborhood Watch Program is a great crime prevention tool and is a highly recommend way to raise awareness and create a safer community for you and your family.

The basic key for a successful Neighborhood Watch Program is communication between the coordinator, the block captains, the residents and the Sandy Springs Police. Setting up the program is an easy and requires little commitment on your part. The SSPD will guide you every step of the way.

The initial meeting will consist of an explanation of the program, the benefits, how to keep it going and also many crime prevention ideas. The recommendation is to have this initial meeting at someone’s home in the neighborhood.

For more information on the program, please visit our website; www.sandyspringspolice.org and follow the link to Neighborhood Watch under the Community Affairs link.

You may also contact Officer Larry Jacobs, Crime Prevention at ljacobs@sandyspringspolice.org with questions or to set up a Neighborhood Watch Program in your community.
