On Friday, 23 December 2011, police were dispatched to 348 Fayette Street on a report Marijuana being smoked in the basement apartment of that residence.
Police Officers Aurelio Vazquez and Jose Pais arrived on scene and reported an odor of burning marijuana coming from the basement. A resident stated that no one was supposed to be in the basement. Upon checking the area Officers came upon three males sitting on a couch smoking what police believed to be marijuana. These individuals were arrested after several small burnt marijuana blunts were observed near them in plain sight. After a police investigation a fourth individual was found lying in a bed and a large amount of loose marijuana was observed in plain view on top of a dresser.
Police arrested Jeremy Arocho, D.O.B. 08/29/1989 who stated that the apartment belonged to a friend of his that was in Maryland for several weeks and that he was staying there. Arocho turned over to the officers of an additional amount of marijuana along with packaging material. A total of 124 grams of marijuana was recovered from the apartment along with $661.00 in cash. Arocho, along with Augustin Hernandez, D.O.B. 07/22/1988 Franklin Lazano, D.O.B. 10/25/1989 and Marvin Alonzo, D.O.B. 06/01/1989 were all charged with Possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Bail was set for Arocho at $15,000 no 10% by the Honorable Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch. The other three were summonsed and released.
