Two Arson Fires in West Hollywood Saturday night: Info. Needed (LASD & LACoFD News Release)

West Hollywood Sheriff's Station deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters received a call of a car fire at 6:52 PM, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, in the 7100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard (Gateway Center) in the City of West Hollywood.

At 8:28PM firefighters and deputies reported to a second fire in the city of West Hollywood, at the 1000 block of Sweetzer Avenue.

Two cars and a carport were damaged.

Los Angeles County firefighters estimated the combined damage at $75,000.00

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Arson/Explosive Detail detectives responded and determined the two separate fires were acts of arson.

No one was injured in the two fires in West Hollywood.

Meanwhile in Hollywood (City of Los Angeles), several similar arson fires occurred during roughly the same period of time Saturday night.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and Los Angeles County firefighters are working closely with Los Angeles City Fire and Los Angeles Police authorities to investigative these crimes and to apprehend those responsible.

Suspect(s) are still WANTED and a combined reward of $60,000.00 has been offered for the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this series of dangerous arson fires.

"Thank you to the many community members and West Hollywood city officials working closely with local sheriff's deputies as we work together in this dangerous situtation," said Captain Kelley Fraser, West Hollywood Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. "We will continue our increased deployment and continue to ask everyone to please, If You See Something, Say Something."

"We are asking everyone to remain vigilant and report any kind of suspicious activity," said Battalion Chief Jon O'Brien, Los Angeles County Fire Department.
