South Pasadena Police Arrest Bicyclist Transporting 23 Pounds of Marijuana Overnight.
On Thursday 12/29 at about 2:30 am, Corporal Jason Lucas of the South Pasadena Police Department stopped a bicyclist for multiple vehicle code violations (e.g. riding his bike without a required front headlamp and rear reflector) in the 300 block of Monterey Rd. while working a burglary suppression assignment. A further investigation by Corporal Lucas and assisting officers revealed 23 pounds of marijuana hidden inside an Igloo water cooler the suspect was carrying while riding his bike. The marijuana has an estimated street value of approximately $23,000.00.
The suspect is identified as 53 year-old Marco Solis, a San Gabriel resident. Solis was also found to be on felony probation for narcotics. Solis was arrested and booked into Pasadena City Jail where he is being held on $50,000.00 bail for charges related to possessing and transporting marijuana for sale.
