Don't drink and drive or don't ride with anybody who does. AAA is offering a free service called Tipsy Tow from December 30th @ 6PM until January 1st @ 6AM. The service is for members and non-members: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OR SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING. They will have a wrecker service drive you and your vehicle home or to a hotel where you are a guest (UP TO 10 MILES FROM THE PLACE YOU ARE DRINKING). They will not take you to another bar, private party, or hotel where a private party is taking place. They will only take you home or a hotel where you are a guest. Save this number... 1-800-222-4357 just in case you find yourself needing the service. If you go over the 10 mile limit then rates apply based on the wrecker service that shows up. Most wrecker services will charge between $4 to $8 per mile. You will be responsible for the rate after the 10th mile. Chief Jones has spoken with some wrecker services that say they will not charge the over 10 mile rate during this specified timeframe, as long as it’s reasonable. You will still be responsible for finding that information out yourself. If you have any questions about this you can call the 1-800 number listed and ask them.
