On Sunday, 27 November 2011 at approximately 2:06 am Police Officers E. Cabrera and Je. Martinez arrested Mark Jonas Chavarria an employee of the Z-Bar at his vehicle after exiting the Bar which is located at 161 New Brunswick Avenue.

These officers along with Sgt. J. Breyta, Det. R. Pineiro and Det. M. Valera were conducting an ABC check at the Z-Bar. At which time all employees present were being checked to ensure that they were on the State mandated Employee List. Chavarria was asked for his ID, at which time he went to get his ID and left the area while police were checking the employees.

When officers realized that he had left the area a check was made with no results. At closing police returned and observe the Chavarria leaving the bar and attempting to enter his vehicle. After a police investigation Officers located a loaded Taurus .45 caliber handgun and a heat sealed bag containing what they believed to be Marijuana. He was arrested and transported to HQ.

Bail was set by the Honorable Judge George Boyd for $100,000.00 with no 10%.
