MAN ARRESTED FOR SEX ASSAULT IN RARITAN TWP.
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced the arrest of one individual as a result of a joint investigation conducted by Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Raritan Township Police Department.
Angel Enriquez-Chuya, age 18, of New Street in Orange, NJ, was arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Assault (2nd Degree) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3rd Degree).
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “The investigation began when the victim’s family notified police after they learned that the victim, a child under the age of 16, was engaging in a sexual relationship with the defendant, who is more than four years older than the victim.”
As a result of evidence obtained by Detectives, Enriquez-Chuya was arrested on December 11, 2011. The Honorable Stephen B. Rubin, J.S.C. set bail at $200,000. He was lodged at the Hunterdon County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
