Forest Roads RE-OPENED - Coordinated Agency Recovery Effort (CARE)

The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has announced the re-opening of the following roads in the Angeles National Forest that were closed on Monday, December 12, 2011, due to snow and icy conditions:

• Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Angeles Crest Highway (SR-2)

• Upper Big Tujunga Cyn. Road from Angeles Forest Highway to SR-2 (Angeles Crest Highway)

• Big Tujunga Cyn. Road from Vogel Flats Road to Angeles Forest Highway

The roads re-opened Wednesday, December 14, 2011, Noon.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling all mountain roads during the winter as icy conditions will be present.

Residents, business owners including persons with access and functional needs may also call 2-1-1 for LA County information and referral services regarding post disaster resources that are available to those affected by the floods and debris and mud flow. CARE is a multi-agency public outreach program committed to providing timely recovery and safety preparedness information following the recent wildfires. This especially relates to the areas affected by the 2009 "Station Fire" area. CARE includes the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and many other agencies.
