COUPLE ARRESTED FOR SELLING COCAINE IN FLEMINGTON
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Flemington Police Chief George Becker, and Sheriff Fred Brown announced that on Friday, December 9, 2011, Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Anti-Crime Team, the Flemington Borough Police Department, and Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department arrested two suspects for distributing cocaine in Flemington Borough. The multi-agency operation dismantled a local cocaine trafficking network with connections to Plainfield, New Jersey.
Arrested was Angela Morales, age 24, and Esteban Iturbide, age 27, both of Flemington.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “During this investigation undercover purchases of cocaine were made from the suspects. Detectives on a surveillance detail later observed Morales attempting to sell an eighth ounce of cocaine within the Flemington Arms Complex. Detectives approached Morales and she was placed under arrest.”
A search warrant was executed at an apartment located in Flemington Arms resulting in evidence of the narcotics trafficking.
Morales and Iturbide were charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute (3rd degree), Possession of Cocaine (3rd degree) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Morales was also charged with two counts of Distribution of Cocaine (3rd degree).
Bail was set at $20,000.00 by the Honorable Stephen B. Rubin, J.S.C. They were lodged at the Hunterdon County Jail awaiting a first appearance in court.
